Made with Zibibbo grapes from Sicily and natural grapefruit, Ramona is organic, natural, gluten-free, low in alcohol, sparkling and, as Vogue so rightly said, it “comes packaged in an adorable can that is practically begging you to share all over Instagram.” Leading wine and food expert Fiona Beckett concluded simply: “I just love it.” And so will fans of Mimosa and Aperol Spritz. Born out of rebellion against wine’s rules and pretentions, Ramona puts the fun back and the pinkie firmly down. With no requirement for fancy glassware, a bottle opener of any kind, or even a special occasion, Ramona is the perfect refresher for picnics, music festivals, garden parties, barbeques and trips to the beach. And if you’re feeling creative, try mixing this grapefruit edition with blanco Tequila and lime juice to create a Ramona Paloma. Ramona was created by the lovely Jordan Salcito, a veteran sommelier and the Wine & Beverage Director for David Chang’s Momofuku Group. Her selection has been awarded “Most Original Wine List in the World” by World of Fine Wine, so you’re in safe and rather cutting-edge hands. Jordan Salcito is our kind of girl; when we went to New York to meet her, she wore a dress from one of our favourite London-based designers specially to honour our visit. She told us that she had become obsessed with the spritzes of the 80s and frustrated with the stuffy nonsense that surrounds fine wine. This drove her to create Ramona, which is the perfect blend of nostalgia, innovation and Riviera fun. Her first test batch sold out long before the first day of summer, so she knew she was on to something special. Since then, Rihanna, Alicia Keys and Kanye West have all been spotted sipping on Ramona.
