We are delighted to introduce an exclusive collaboration with Manchester Gin. Harvey Nichols and The Spirit of Manchester Distillery have had a strong partnership since the very beginning. We were the first major retailer in the country to stock Manchester Gin when it launched way back in 2016. That partnership has now come full circle and we’re honoured to have created two small-batch gins together. We’ve incorporated linseed into the recipe as a nod to Harvey Nichols’ humble beginnings as a linen shop in Knightsbridge. Manchester Gin x Harvey Nichols Classic Gin is a classic London Dry with a citrussy twist from the herbal lemon thyme, pepper and pine provided by the sizeable hit of juniper, and summery aromas imparted by elderflower. The linseed creates a buttery mouthfeel that’s just screaming out for a Martini, although it’s obviously excellent mixed into cocktails or topped with premium tonic water. The multi-award-winning Manchester Gin is inspired by the city it’s made in. In 2016, Jen and Seb crafted the first 25,000 bottles in their dining room, and it won a Gold Medal at The Spirits Business Gin Masters in the micro-distillery category. Today, it’s a state-of-the-art distillery capable of producing more than one million bottles a year and picking up nearly as many Gold Medals. Their flavoursome craft gin recipes pay homage to Manchester by using local and northern flavours. Traditionally distilled using ‘Wendy’ – the bespoke-made copper still of Manchester Gin – this handcrafted expression beautifully straddles the line between classic and contemporary. Embracing the increasing global commitment to become Net Zero by 2050 and Manchester’s mission to become a carbon-neutral city by 2038, The Spirit of Manchester Distillery is working towards Net Zero by 2030. With a long-term vision to be more transparent and sustainable, they’re looking at their bottling and packaging materials, and in some cases even adding QR codes so that consumers can track the carbon footprint of individual bottles. They’ve sent nothing to landfill since 2019, their energy is 100% renewable, and they make charitable donations to support their community. This is the kind of eco-friendly spirit the world needs.
