The liner can be worn alone on mild days, as the outside is coated with a durable water repellent (DWR) to deter a light rain or snow. Once winter storms and the real cold sets in, the liner can be zipped into the outer shell for superior protection. The outer jacket is powered by H2No Performance Standard, a two layer, 100% waterproof/breathable shell with 75D micro-twill weave. This durable outer takes on rain, snow, wind, and dirt. Even in the form of snowballs. The two hand pockets and chest pocket zip shut so you won't lose anything important and all zippers (included front center zip) are covered by a storm flap to prevent leaks. The drop hood is removable, staying out of the way when it's not needed, and is helmet-compatible for warmth and safety.
